JOB TITLE: Web For All Community Leader
WORKPLACE: Listuguj Mi’gmaq Development Centre, 2 Pacific Drive, Listuguj, QC

ORGANIZATION:

 

 

 

 

 

The Collectivité ingénieuse de la Péninsule acadienne (CIPA) inc., is a nonprofit corporation that designs, develops and deploys computer applications that strategically  use information technology and communications.  They aim to empower communities by promoting know-how and new knowledge. CIPA’s offices are located in Paquetville in the Acadian Peninsula in New Brunswick. The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Development Centre (LMDC) is a local First Nations Human Resources and Skills Development Centre.  Its goal is to assist Listuguj Mi’gmaq interested in securing career related jobs; returning to school or starting their own business.  The LMDC is one of 22 Local First Nation Centres in membership with the First Nations Human Resources Development Commission of Quebec.
DURATION: August 3, 2010 to March 31, 2011 (7 months)
SALARY: $10 per hour/35 hours per week

DESCRIPTION:

 

 

 

The Web For All Initiative is to provide Canadians who are coping with the challenges of mobility, education and literacy easier access to Centres which will have computer stations equipped with adaptive technology. Community Leaders will be hired to realize the promotion and use of these sites for everyone in the targeted communities. Reporting to the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Development Centre, the Web For All Leader will be responsible for aiding clients, becoming familiar with the adaptive technologies, complete reports and assist the Access Centre in daily operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Be between the ages of 18 to 30 years
  • Completion of a High School with some Post Secondary education;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of computers;
  • Able to guide clients in the use of computers and programs;
  • Sociable personality;
  • Organized and reliable;
  • Willingness to aid members in improving their skills and abilities; and
  • Must be a team player.
  • Become familiar with the Web For All workstation's package of adaptive technologies
  • Put in place promotional activities for the Web For All workstation within the community
  • Search and identify potential users for the Web For All workstation within the community
  • Assist and accompany Web For All users who are coming to the Community Access Centre
  • Complete and submit, in compliance with prescribed deadlines, all reports and documents required by the Web For All Initiative
  • Compile and provide, in accordance with prescribed deadlines, success stories from Web For All user
  • Help the Community Access Centre with its regular activities

  • Become familiar with the Web For All workstation's package of adaptive technologies
  • Put in place promotional activities for the Web for All workstation within the community
  • Search and identify potential users for Web For All workstation within the community
  • Assist and accompany Web For All users who are coming to the Community Access Centre
  • Complete and submit, in compliance with prescribed deadlines, all reports and documents required by the Web for All Initiative
  • Compile and provide, in accordance with perscribed deadlines, success stories for Web For All Users
  • Help the Community Access Centre with its regular activities
